Nonprofits across the nation are being impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Canterbury Consulting and Armanino, an independent accounting and business consulting firm, are hosting a three-part webinar series on the impact of COVID-19 on nonprofits to bring together our communities and share insights on how organizations are navigating through the pandemic's effects.

During each session, we will:

  • Highlight results from our survey on the impact of COVID-19 on nonprofits
  • Feature industry experts from accounting and investment consulting
  • Share how nonprofit entities are addressing challenges during this time

Now that many nonprofit organizations have been approved and received funding through the PPP, the focus moves to maximizing loan forgiveness and maintaining adequate documentation for any potential audits of the funding in the future.

Jason LeveyJason Levey, CAIA, Director, Canterbury Consulting
Mr. Levey is an investment consultant advising clients on investment strategy, risk management, and portfolio construction. In addition to being a shareholder of the firm, Mr. Levey is the chair of Canterbury’s Capital Markets Committee and plays an integral role in determining the firm's macro investment views. Mr. Levey also sits on the Global Equity and Private Equity Manager Research Committees, and on the Canterbury Outsourced CIO Committee. Upon joining Canterbury in 2005, Mr. Levey partnered with senior consultants as an analyst performing asset allocations studies, implementing portfolio decisions, and conducting performance measurement. Previously, Mr. Levey was a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley. He is a member of the Orange County Community Foundation’s Impact Philanthropy Group and a member of the Project Hope Alliance advisory board. Mr. Levey received his Bachelor of Arts in business administration with a concentration in finance from California State University, Fullerton and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Mike BoltonMike Boulton, CPA, Audit Partner
Mike is a partner who provides assurance and technical accounting consulting services. He specializes in financial statement audits of nonprofit organizations and co-leads Armanino’s Foundations & Grantmakers nonprofit practice group. Mike works with a variety of nonprofits including private foundations, charitable trusts, private education, religious entities, social services and performing arts organizations. In addition to financial statement audits, Mike assists organizations with financial statement reviews, compilations and general accounting consulting such as best practices, benchmarking, and creating key financial performance metrics. Active in his community, Mike serves on the board and is audit committee chairman of Downtown Streets Team in Palo Alto, and is also the chairman of the finance council of Queen of Apostles Catholic School. He is a member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs. Mike earned his B.S. in accounting from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
